my thinking is that if they continue to hand out loans to everyone with bad credit and give out loans for 8 years, the resale value on a harley will never climb back to where it once was, now everyone is buying new harleys and its driving down the value of trade-ins, its just too easy to get a loan for a new one now days, that alot of people won't even look at a used one
When I bought my NT I looked at used ones and found that I could get a brand new one for 1000-2000 more than a used one. So it was a no brainer for me to get a brand new one. I paid 15k for mine out the door with a free first service and a 1k gift card. There are to many people out there that think pipes and crome add to the value of a used bike.

Thank you. This is what got the "market" out of hand. Your lucky if all your options actually add 10% of their value to the sale price. The problem is every seller thinks so. A 15K bike with 10K of options is NOT a 25K bike. Sorry those options are so over inflated it is ridiculous. Sure that is what we paid for them only because we all buy into Harley telling us that is what they are worth. In one month I saved over a thousand dollars on eBay for Harley accessories. Accessories can be bought cheap. They do not hold their value, yet everyone thinks when it comes time to sell their bike those accessories are worth full inflated value.
I have had more than one Harley dealer flat out tell me to remove all of the accessories and put back the original parts. It won't make that much difference on the trade in value. They do not look at the bike the way you do. Of course now that the dealer has your trade in, he is going to mark it up with all those accessories on the bike. You are better off selling your accessories online and making more money in your pocket than leaving them on a trade in bike.
