Trust me, I live in florida, we dont have to wear helmets..I wouldnt get myself one to wear if it didnt fit, or was too uncomfortable...
It is tight.... but will loosen up....all helmets do... the large was already too loose
I keep my head shaved.. so maybe that is the difference ??
My feeling is that the helmets ran big???
I do have a small head... but a fat face...lol.... kinda sucks really..
