make it a bobber! make it a bobber!

get the frame and engine cleaned up, chop the rear fender while you have it off, some heat wrapped exhaust...

i would like a bobber, but i dont know how to make it a true bobber with all of the electronics and other modern stuff. when i think of a bobber, i think of a stripped down rigid ironhead or shovel with a springer and no electrics or a custom frame build up. to use this platform for a true bobber without much fab work will be tough plus right now its my only bike and i dont want this build to exceed much more then a month or 2 so im ready for spring.

Ok you should get the frame professionally stretched and raked out. Hide everything you can like ignition module, coil etc. get rid of all the bs wiring. I had my bike tore down to hust like yours is now 8 months after i got it and got rid of all the bs. I only have a tailight/tag light/brake light and headlight now. Move the ignition switch down to the motor mount and used a marine style turn key switch, and also put a 3 way switch ih the headlight for that.

Your a saint for taking that bastard in!! I would figure out exactly what you'd like to do to the bike for sure ASAP, which a lot of help can be obtained right here on the forums in all of it various stages. I'd next research the cost of everything you'd like to do to it. Next, I'd simply get started immediately, as I'm sure all of us know. budgets and build times can get way out of control sometimes! I'd hate to hear that in spring, when it's time to get out and ride, your still working on your little bastard and only motorcycle.
