Default Progressive lowering kit question

If you install one and leve everything in the forks stock, does it really lower the rear end enough to notice, and give it a more chopper like look? Or does the front fork settle in at about level with the rear?
and do these mess up the ride any?

thanks

I have a lowering kit on my 99 Softail. Not sure what brand it is, but it is really easy to change height of the rear. I do not think it changes the front end at all as far as height goes. It does change the steering geometry a little, but hardly noticable. I can change mine on the kick stand, and raise it a little when my wife rides with me. Takes about two minutes with short wrenches.

I've got the adjustable Progressive shocks and have lowered the rear end of my Softail by the full 2". Doesn't affect the height of the front at all. Yes, it will give your bike more of an aggressive chopper-like stance. You will feel a slight difference in the ride - the front end will feel lighter and a little more touchy or responsive. You will also feel the bumps in the road more than before.

Your bike will be lower in the back. Some people insist you must lower the front as well, but I disagree. I have the air ride on the back and have never lowered the front. I set the ride height where I feel like setting it and go. Yes, everything would be "even" if I lowered the front as well but I see no need. I bought the lowering springs and never have installed them.
