Default 1st Dyno Run - 2008 Fat Boy

Kind of like the first day of school...well at least for me. A local dealer was offering a free baseline run on the dyno today. So I took advantage of it to see where mine stacked up. As it turns out the canned map from Fuel Moto was pretty well matched to mine. They did two runs in 4th and 5th gear. Max hp/tq was 74.5/83.5 and the af ratio was about 14. The service guy at the dealer said this was about as good as it gets with my mods and any additional tuning would be a waste of money. Per the graph the torque was over 80 from 2500 to 4600rpm and the hp peaked at around 5500rpm. It was fun to watch. And I am pretty happy with the results. I always thought it ran well...now I have the numbers to back it up.

Those are good numbers. I had an 07 Fatboy with exactly the same setup and got 76hp and 86tq after dyno tuning. The BSS have a lot to do with it. I took it to a local independent shop and sat there the whole time with him doing it. When he was finished he checked his files and those pipes put out better numbers than other bikes with the same mods. I had a couple issues with the PCIII not returning to idle properly and he straightened it out for me. I think it was worth getting it tuned in my case because he added some smoothness and drivability that I didn't have.

Mine went from 63.99 hp to 75.41 and 78.16 to 87.36 tq. mine would not work well on a canned map do that is the result of a dyno tune. someday i will have the dyno done with my t-max but it should be the same

How's it run with that Autotune? I would like to go that route one day. How long did the installation take?

Dave
one of the best mods i ever made. tunes all the time even loaded or not and i have changed the pipes 3 times and it self adjusted.

Install took less than hr after i threw away the instruction. i routed the front o2 over the engine

It looks like a formal tune might squeeze a little more out of it, but I am not sure if it is worth it or if I would really notice it. Cams really open up this motor, but it is pretty pricey....well everything is with HD. I am happy with the way it runs now.
