I realize you get what you pay for but its still a peice of metal welded with a couple springs on it. I am sure I have used worse parts on my stock car that me and my buddies welded in the garage and hoped they held up. They are taking some real abuse bangin off other cars and the outside wall. This is a floating suspension.
Not tryin to justify being a tightwade but ITS A $1000 extra just to get a different manufacturer that might be built the exact same way.
Demon does have a bad rap. But when was the last time someone bought something from custom chrome and started a thread about how great thier experience was. 50,000 +satisfied and 500 not satisfied???
Hope I didnt jinx myself but I am placing another order tomorrow for the wiring and I will see how it goes. Then next week I will decide on who to order the springer from.
I hope it works out for you... I enjoy mine and after seeing what ol' Jack did for his, I may do the same. It does jingle a little bit.
I remember chatting with Chaz about em', prior to me picking up my rigid. He was telling me like someone mentioned earlier that the size of the bike may also make a difference.
I say put it on, and ride it like ya stole it........
I have a set of Demon's Cycle forward controls. No sooner got them on and the weather turned to crap so they don't have many miles on them yet but so far so good. They bolted right on with no problem. Hopefully they will hold up We'll find out when the weather clears a bit. The way they have been trashed in this thread has me a little worried.
Actually I am not sure who makes the pipes. I bought them about 4 years ago and they didnt fit. I think I might have bought them on ebay. I had donnie smith mini guns on the bike til last month. I cut the original mount off and welded one up that made the rear one fit. I havent ran the bike yet witht them so I am not sure how they sound. they might be a little tough to ride with due to my leg being right where they end when I come to a stop, but i think they look killer. Here is a pic of my old pipes. They were ok but not waht I really wanted.
