Personally I think the 1" bars are a little thin for the Fatboy. I would probably try to go with a 1.25".

Doesnt the Fatboy come stock with 1.25" bars?

Off topic, I notice you are in Afghanistan for another month and from Florida. Would you by any chance be AF Red Horse?

Thanks for all the replies guys! I ordered a pair of sweeping beaters in 1.25" from BR and now I think I'm going to email him back and change it to the 1.5. I'll post pics when I get everything on. Hopefully this thing is going to come out swinging.

As for the Afghan deal, the Red Horse boys are some top notch builders- me, I'm just an army dude makin it through.

I personally say stick with the 1.25" bars. I think they are just right. 1.5" isnt really necessary til you get to 16s or 18s.

Stay safe. I am over in Iraq with the Horse and I know we have a lot of guys from Florida over there right now and we are all supposed to be rolling out in the next month or 2. The end is finally near...

Cool 1.25 apes

went and picked my FB Lo up at the shop yesterday after having 1.25 12" apes and a set of Screaming Eagles installed- handled great! sounded good too- love the apes- I agree that 1" looks to small on a FB

another note-it pays to check around for the cost-went to one local dealer and they gave me the cost of a set of 12" apes and the Screaming Eagles slip ons at $2900-had the same work done plus add say another $100 worth of things to my bike and got it all for just under $1700. I went to the dealership that I bought the bike from. So it DOES pay to check around before make a choice
