this forum is great.

Its fun building a bike
Hey guys, Im gonna get the wild1 0550 beach bars for my deluxe also..the guy at wild1 told me the stock cluctch cable is fine but the right sides need to be +4"...is that the same as what y'all did? How bout the electrical lines for the grips, do they need to be lengthened also? Did y'all do the work yourselves? I checked with the Harley dealer, and they want 10hrs of labor to do it....nearly $1000...Id appreciate any feedback as I have very little experience working on my bike myself.
Nice looking bike! I'm also looking at adding some Burly Brand Bikini bars to my 2012 Deluxe. I already bought a set of Wild1 1 1/2" risers and clamp. Besides the bars what else am I going to need? Longer break lines, Switch wires, ect?
I asked Burleigh about bikni and beach bars for my 08 deluxe.....they sent me this reply and link:
"the only way to do this would be to change the risers, so rather than try to explain it all I will provide a link and if you like what you see we can take it from there, for the record we also do the risers (FLSTF 07up shown) but there are a heap of options you can go for they just need to be 1-1/4" clamping risers at no more than 1-3/4" at clamping height. "
I know that you can run a stock clutch cable with the burly bikinis, and I think you can get away with stocks on the right side as well, at most you'll need +2. I was told to get +4 from a ****tard at DrVtwin and they were too long. My bars are the 38.5" Burly's that a lot of guys here on the forum are using. Was afraid of them before I decided to go for it being short, but I have to say, so glad I didnt get the narrow ones. I cant imagine a more comfortable hand position. If you have the opportunity, try a ride on a bike with beach bars before you decide on a width. Oh, and you'll also need wire extensions. I used +4 novello wire extensions.
I simply can't believe how comfortable the bike is since I made the change (Burly bars, Wild Ones risers and clamp) - I've 'wasted' years until I discovered these!!
