I have a 2009 Hertiage that I have put just about 3k miles since I bought it in August. The engine seems to have a vibration when I accelerate moderately hard in any gear. My older 2000 Heritage did not have this feature. My question is this normal for the later models or is this the onset of something sinister?
I'm running an '09' Heritage myself and haven't noticed any change. Changing pipes might make things seem a little different. Also, have you had the tension on the drive belt checked? That might be about the only thing that could change the feel in just that many miles.
i have an 09 heritage as well. and well i have put over 7000 on in a yr. with no changes yet. (ordered some pipes finally) but never any engine vibration.

I had some vibration last season in my deluxe after a run in with a very long tree branch that decided to get lodged in my drive belt. The belt was fine but slightly out of alignment which caused some vibes. After it was realigned, things were back to normal.
I have a 09 Night Train and with the stock foot pegs you feel very noticable engine vibration under moderate accelleration in any gear. Heavy throttle would vibrate your feet off the pegs. I installed ISO pegs and it's better but you still feel engine vibration way more then I expected. On the highway at steady speeds under 70 mph (below 2500 rpm) you get very little engine vibe. By 80 mph the vibration starts getting uncomfortable. Is this normal vibration for a late model softail? A while back I had a 07 Dyna and it was smoother then this softail at any engine speed above 2000 rpm.
My 2010 Heritage is as smooth as silk. Have you checked your tire pressure ? With a tire as wide as a Heritage, when they are low on pressure ( especially the front ) it can feel like a vibration.
