TACHOMETER AND MOUNT SUGGESTIONS
Getting ready to change my handlebars to Wild1 8" drag bars on my 04 FatBoy (stock handlebar height hurts between the shoulder blades). The built-in risers are 1.25 inch diameter and spaced at 3.5 inches at center.
I am considering mounting a tachometer to the handlebars. I would like some suggestions on size of tach, manufacturer, etc. I have seen conventional tachs in diameters of 1 7/8", 2.37" and up. I was looking at a Arlen Ness mini tach ( 1 7/8" diameter) and an AN 3-hole triangular shaped mount that clamps to the risers (not the crossbar). This set-up would allow me mount the tach below the handlebars instead of above them.
I have also seen the billet-type tachs that are shaped like a torpedo or a bullet and mount to the crossbar of the t-bars...these are pretty cool in that they're machined to split open so that the crossbar passes right through the body of the tach...appears you can set the angle of these tachs to exactly where you want it.
Anyone have the mini-tach at 1 7/8" diameter? Is it hard to read/see while driving or should I go with something larger like a 2.37" diameter?
Appreciate any suggestions for this type of set up including manufacturer and where to buy...
Thanks...
