Default Riser Question?

could OEM FXSTB risers be cut down to 3 or 4 inch, and drilled to thread?

I would think that cutting them would ruin the chrome finish by making it peel and crack. Maybe someone in here knows for sure though.

if the chroming is good, and you cut slow with a fine tooth blade, you might get away with it. apply clear coat, or clear nail polish afterwards. kind of a gamble...... i drilled a set of sissybar side plates, and it worked very good. best of luck. steve

Yes it can be done. I took mine to the local machine shop here and was gonna get it done. they wanted $50.00 to do it. I told them I could get new ones in the size I wanted, for cheaper than that.

Chop On,
Robert
