Thanks for the pic, I should have asked for more. Your pipes extend back to the rear axle, the pictures in the V&H catalog show them ending well short of the axle. see this link..
Also had them. Stop before axle - look at link in sig below. No gunk or anything. Deep sounding? not. Pretty loud with cammed bike on long rides. Probly not much quieter than your drags. Great performer is not what comes to mind. Very good quality.
My number one complaint on these pipes is soot on my white walls and soot on my rear axle cover. It seems to only do it when the bike is cold.
I place a piece of card board between the pipes and the swingarm when I first crank the bike cold. I leave it there for about 2 minutes, and then for the rest of the day it seems to be good. I was told this is common on bikes with white walls and short pipes. If I had it to do over I would get longshots.
Any one have any issues with the pipes not lining up with the exhaust ports? I am having an issue with a set of used pipes currently. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

I had to kind of pull a little and they lined up fine. Hold up the new pipes to the old ones and make sure the V&H's are not bent. Someone could of dropped them.
