Post Rear fender help! Please?

Hey everyone, Just got back into riding again a few years ago, as I get to know the site better I will post some pictures.
I look foward to your advice , knowledge and just general chat. My local dealer has been great also as I am not a mechanic, needless to say I know enough to be dangerous, so bear with me.

Sorry for the last will and testiment

Have an 09 black denim x bones, for the most part finished with mods less the rear fender. I tried to do my home work and thought the fatboy fender would work, went as far as to order the denim finished fender and longer wiring harness, the problem was the fit @ the ecm and frame cover, due to the fender curve? How do I make this fit and re finish the denim if need be, does the fender need to be cut past the frame cover, dealer let me cancel the order but I really want to do this mod. any help is greatly appreciated.

Ps
great looking bikes with lots of hard as shows, be safe and enjoy.

Hey Hobo, check out this thread. He put on a fatboy rear fender on his Crossbones. Good luck.

Thanks for the fast replies. Great looking bikes. I did go to that thread, good looking,
I think my problem still might be,
I kept my sprung touring model solo seat, seperate pillion pad and detach sissy bar. the frame cover does not fit against the fatboy fender and leaves gaps, dont have a problem cutting the new fender but it looks like his seat style and fitment covers that section as opposed to my set up. Seems like black ( not my denim) would be a bit easier for me because I could fill and have the fender re painted with harley black.??

Default Rear fender and frame fairing

Depending on what type of seat you use, if stock you will have that ugly piece of plastic under the springy seat. Out of my entire 2009 Cross Bones that was about the only thing I did not like. I tried painting it gloss black but that did not work as it was not the vivid black my model is. I ended up getting a can of spray-on truck bed liner at an auto parts store. It is durable, dries fast and best of all looks great. I put on three light coats and the final texture matches my stock seat. I only store my gloves under there while I am off the bike somewhere but this stuff should last.
