Just wondering if you have made a decision. I have 06 fatboy and am looking for another seat as well. I prefer sitting down and back the machine seems to have a better feel.
I have a Softail STD and I am going for a solo seat, since I have 200 rear tire the options arent as many as for the ones with thinner rear wheel. I found a seat I am going to buy at www.mammothchoppers.com They have solo seats and doubles.....and the prices are really good. I am 6´2" and I will order a solo from them in april...Looks good and low prices.
I went with C&C seats. They let you sit back a little farther. A HD factory seat are usually thicker and have you forward some.
I had a solo made and it was ruff on the rear after about 50 miles till it got broken in, which took awhile, depending how much you ride..
I am kind of leaning toward the Sundowner 2up. I don't think they make one where the passenger pillion comes off. I'm not real sure on that yet. I know I wanted a solo, but I am not dead set on it.
went with the sundowner solo and detachable pass. pilon, in case the sack of potatoes wants to come along. its very comfortable for both of us and i'm 6ft.
At that height you might want to check out some Harley Goodies floorboard extensions as well. They are a proven product around these parts and will give you a lot more room. That being said, C&C can custom make the seat however you need it. Just let them know,. Another option is to get your stock seat modded by Mean City Cycles. They do a great job and it is far less expensive than a new seat. You can be moved to exactly where you want with memory foam. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/vendo...-seat-mod.htmlhttps://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...-softails.html
I went with the mustange vintage with backrest myself. I love it so far. Have only put 400 miles on it but it is slowly breaking in, the backrest is awesome. It is a bigger seat for a solo, moved me back slightly, and up a bit. Still feels like I'm riding *on* my bike instead of *in* it. I do believe if I'm gonna stay with this seat I now need to go with taller handlebars (still stock). One real nice thing, it got rid of the frankenstien lookin seat bolts. Looks real nice with the single, shorter seat screw.

hey i would go with sending your seat to mean city cycles they can add memory foam for about 100 bucks plus shipping and that includes reshaping to your desire! hope this helps.
