Shorten the forward controls
Hey, I got a 98 fatboy from a friend that passed away and the forward controls are just alittle too far forward for comfort. Can I shoten them up? If so what do I need to order. Thanks

He must have changed them because Fatboy's come stock with floorboards.
Just to check them out I would visit the local dealer and see if a new Fatty's controls fit you better.
If they do you should be able to find a set of stock (size anyway) floorboards and controls to put on and you should be fine.
Check down in the parts for sale/trade and e-bay.
You can often get a really good deal that way.
Another alternative, if you like the forwards, but they just don't fit right, would be to see about getting either a new seat or have yours modded by someone like www.meancitycycles.com at a reasonable price to fit you better and move you forward.
