Default Touring on a Heritage

Gentlemen,
Time for a new ride, and I plan on more two up touring. I am new to the softail line and I have few questions I was hoping someone could provide their opions on.
1 General touring impressions of the heritage classic,
2 Not so loud, but better than stock mufflers (V and H shotguns perhaps?)
3 The seating position on the softails is superb, what seat puts the passenger at the highest elevation, and the rider at the lowest? So the passenger can see over the riders head
4 General comparisons between the heritage vs the road king.

thanks in advance for your help

I can't respond to all your questions but I have had 3 Electra Glides , 1 roadking and just recently switched to a Heritage. One of the reason we bought it was because of the height and compared to a Glide it feels and is a lot lighter, not to mention a great looking ride. Also I like sitting in the bike compared to on it. Today we road two up and it really felt good at stops & on the road. Easy to turn at slow speeds and the parking lots. My initial opinion is the Heritage is going to be great on the road. Big bags & a T-bag on the back & go.I know it won't corner with a Roadking but I think it will be fine. I also plan on installing the crash bars w/highway pegs & lower covers on the cold days. The wife said she like being able to see better on the stock seat which we might change to a mustang seat later. Hope this helps a little.

I've had my Heritage for 6 years this August and love it. I ride 2up most of the time with the wife. The stock pillion is a little to narrow so I put the Touring pillion and added floorboards and she loves it. I have packed both saddle bags to the max along with a t-bag and a roll bag and we rarely bottom out and them only on a very deep swail in the road. Our weight combined is about 350 lbs. 3-400 miles a day is no problem and feel good when done.

95 heritage owner here. Went to Colorado in June and rode the whole way. We stopped every 12 hours. used mustang seat with back rest and had the passenger seat with back rest all mustang. It was by far the best ride we ever had. The heritage is awesome... I wouldnt ever go back to my glide.

I'm on my second Heritage for over 60,000 miles between the two of them. My wife and I love it. Our next bike will be another one.

Small hijack here but along the same lines as the original op's ? I am looking at an 2006 flst. Price is right. I have a sportster now that I plan on keeping, but the kids are getting older so the wife is with me more often and we are taking longer rides. But since this is not the classic model it does not have bags, so to get to the point, what is the price and difficulty of putting the classic bags on a standard heritage?

2006 FLST is a stripped down heritage. Less chrome, silver engine, headlight- no fog/driving lamps, little passenger pad etc...

Agree with everyone, glenatl nailed it by saying add the touring pillion and floorboards for the wife and you're set. Can't go wrong with the heritage!
