Flat black paint, do it myself? Harley Rocker...
shooting flats is really easy i just shot my fighter build in semi gloss and then hit it with matt clear... gave it a satin flat look, i love it... just like any paint it is all in ther prep. error on the side of caution and spray light even coats, take your time...

i painted mine last winter. it was the first time i had painted any thing. i barrowed the things i didnt have to get the job done. its not a flashy paint job, but its the color i wanted. i did it myself and no one can take that away. i say take your time and go for it. you'll be glad you saved the dough

my bro NoWaxBones painted his rear fender with a rattle can from Color Rite. You couldnt tell a difference between the factory paint and the rattle paint. However, the disclaimer is if you have Pacific Blue Pearl ...dont order there paint cause it DOES NOT match...however, if you have the Flaming Blue Pearl it does. Cause both cans are the same. Getting back on subject.... the Color Rite Denim Black is right on target.

While colorite paints are generally VERY GOOD, they are also VERY EXPENSIVE, I had to shoot a CBR600RR the stock canary yellow pearl after doing an insurance repair to the bike and a qt of the base and clear cost me over $200 and that was with a dealer discount. That was about 4 years ago and colorite may have raised or lowerd the cost of they're products since then but I wouldnt know as I havent had to use them again.

I ordered Harley Denim black from Color Rite two weeks ago. Just waiting for it to arrive and then I will be doing it myself. I was hoping it would be here for Easter weekend so I would have time to get it done but no luck. Hopefully my next week isn't too busy.
