Default Carlini Apes - How comfortable?

Ok, been searching the site and have not found this discussed. I am interested in getting Carlini 1.5'' apes but was looking at the tip to tip size of 41'' wow that seems wide. The 1.25'' Carlini apes are approx 34'' tip to tip. That sounds like a big difference (7'' makes a big difference, just ask my wife ). Anyway, I am thinking of taking some PVC and mocking up a Carlini but wanted to ask anyone riding with 1.5'' apes what they think of the comfort of the Carlinis. Thanks, all.

I run the 1.25 Carlini's and could not even think about going wider. Thats why I went with the 1.25" bars. The PVC is a great idea before you order.
