Help! trying to find black rear turn signals, you can see them in photos all over the harley site but impossible to find a part number. I prefer to buy them black than to paint mine, tried a few times but I'm such a perfectionist and i am finishing off a winter project on my 97 badboy, blacking the rest of the bike out. Got lots of parts powder coated but they dont want to do the flashers as they will melt the internal wires in the oven, and i dont want to take them apart, rather just buy a new set, why is it so hard to find part number? Found the part number for the black trim rings but not for the housing, any help would be appreciated. Ted
i actually did and called my local dealer...thats what freakin me out, i cant find it, they are also having a hard time and cant get it off the harley site.
thanks for the info, the first number is the complete kit without the stems and does not look like a direct bolt on, the last 3 numbers are all the trims rings for different models.
From the 2009 parts catalog, here are the part no. for the stock turn signals for Xbones/Fatboy Lo. These should be a direct bolt on.
For the Front:
68804-06 TURN SIGNAL, Front (Black) - this is the whole signal all included. There is no black stem for them.
For the rear:
69934-08 TURN SIGNAL, rear (Domestic - For FLSTSB) - Whole signal, all included except support
69933-08 SUPPORT, Rear Lamp Mounting (Black)
there are also some nuts and bolts to attach it to the fender, but guess you got those.
According to the parts book you can't buy just the housing by itself.
hey trozen, your right, but i think you can get them powdercoated. the dealer i go to has alot of bikes there w/them PC'ed, so maybe check around for someone to PC yours. maybe bullet turn signal kit 68005-99? page 205.
Go to your HD dealer, have them look up replacement rear turn signals for a "Fatboy Lo" Bang, you got them. Bring a picture of a Fatboy Lo with you to show them. They have a hard time thinking outside the box. They're BLACK from the factory.
The ones that I saw on the Fatboy Lo at the dealer didn't look much better than mine and I just sanded, used self etching primer, then painted and finish sanded. Good enough for me and like I said the ones at the dealer weren't perfect.
