Default RE: Seats, Again

I always thought the stock Heirtage seat was one of the better stock seats for touring. I rented a heirtage in Kauai, Hawaii recently and liked it a lot. Had good backsupport as compared to the Deluxe. I bought the Sundowner for my Deluxe and its got the great back support, puts me closer to the controls, and prevents any sliding around during quick takeoffs. But the padding is not a heck of a lot different for the driver. The back seat portion is about the same as the optional rear tour pillion offered by Harley.

I would vote for the Corbin but you will pay a ton more money for that classy item. Sundowner is less than $300 and Corbin, what $500-800??

I paid $545 for the dual tour and one backrest for my 1998. If you have a 2000 and up model you will have to add an additional $100. I went with the Corbin for one reason and that was because I did not want to add and rigid backrest. The detachable backrest would have required me to relocate my rear bullet turn signals using those skinny post mount and I did not want to do that either. This only left one option and that was the seat with backrest option, AKA Corbin.

That is a good point for a guy who hasn't spent the dough on a sissybar.
The corbins and mustangs have backrest options on the seat rather than the fender strut.

I put the mustang wide solo and the wide pillion on my heritage - wife loves it and the back rest is super on my seat - I can't say enough good things about the seat - Huge change in comfort.

DMSC,
How's the seating height compared to stock on that heritage?
I'm taking note having sat on a friends 03 heritage.. a little higher than the stock seat on my fatboy but it's more of a tour seat as is.
I assume you mean the Mustang Wide Vintage Solo.

Got any pics with your new seat??

... sorry guys, I'm mr 20 questions today.
Like others have stated...a little bit forward and up a bit. The biggest difference (other than much improved comfort overall) for me is, there's a fixed, repeatable spot for me to plant my behind. With the stock seat, I seemed to always be searching for the spot I was suppoed to sit! I guess that's because the seat was designed as a compromise.

Here are a couple of pics. I have the Cruise Arm Mark III's on in these as well...

DMSC, that is the mustang seat on your bike right?

What is the model or name again?

Very cool! Nice heritage.. I like the silver.

I might just have to go with the vintage (non-studded) version for my fatboy I'm thinking.
The solo by itself looks pretty retro, which would be great on an FL softail of any kind.
Got a friend who's a drag dealer who can hook me up.
Careful note though, looks like they make these solo/pillion versions and they make a single seat version that looks just like it.

Those cruisearms are the ticket aren't they.

I like them a lot...even though I'm a little too short for them! [&:]

I'm going to add a set of the offset peg mounts to get them back another inch or so. That should allow me to get my feet on them and still have a smidge of bend in my knees.
