3 small holes and several options HD actually sells little black covers for $5 apiece which is a rip off but an option also can bob past hole another option or cover and paint or buy some spike screws if your into that

I just covered three of the four holes with a HD Badge, you can see it in my signature picture. I use the fourth for my Fender bib. However, Top-Down Products is working on some creative designs to cover the fender holes, check out the Fender Hole Cover Plates Thread.

Back when I had a rear fender I plugged the 4 holes with some 50 cal. bullets. An idea I got from this forum way back when.

Not sure if you are referring to Pylon's post or mine, but I will answer for mine. I bought an HD Emblem (4-1/4" X 3") off of eBay and attached it to cover the three fender holes.
