Full fiberglass inner and outer, not plastic like the factory HD. It accepts any HD touring windshield and fairing pouch/bag. Easy to take apart with plenty of room to mount a amp inside, I have a Fosgate 300W amp in the fairing and another in one of the bags.

Yeah, that seems to be one of the biggies in the aftermarket fairing world. Along with Dragonfly and Dead Center.
Reckless seems cool - but I'm seeing a lot of negativity about them. Lots of "go F yourself" responses being claimed when asking for service.
And there was a recent newspaper article where their city shut them down due to code violations, etc. Are they back up and running?

In todays retail market everyone takes a chance making a purchase from any company.
I am not recommending any product but this was my experience with them. I ordered this fairing in late July 2013, took about 14 days to get it, they sent tracking info when it shipped, I called when it arrived because they left out the windshield in the box, got friendly customer service and received the windshield a couple of days later. A co-worker has a Heritage and ordered one of these after I received mine, his order experience was identical other than the missing shield.
I did look at these on display at Thunderbeach Rally before ordering along with the high priced Dragonfly, etc. Just didn't see difference of the extra $500+ for the other fairings.
Id like to know if anyone has bought an ebay knock off.. cuz some of these so called quality fairings are damn expensive when you compare to $300 shipped to your door with no stereo.. maybe another $300 for stereo and speakers? reckless I think you are at about $800 shipped... the knock offs are supposedly 'hand laid' fiberglass.. which could mean anything really.. but should mean they dont use mulched up fiberglass. Quite honestly, having experience with fiberglass, I can tell you the type of resin is the most important.. good luck finding out what they use.. Marine epoxy type is the best.
By the way.. reckless has a good deal on paint now.. $350 one color.. hell, you cant barely buy paint for that unless you have clear on hand.. although I dont know what they use.. which once again, is critical in terms of chipping... If you add up reducer, base, clear, the mess, the cleanup.. the lack of a spray booth (bugs)... eh.. $350 is a deal. Though, I'll probably do it myself.. will be nice to have the paint for a respray every few years when its all chipped to heck.
Another note about a front fairing.. its my observation that if you want your softail to look more like a harley bagger you will need to drop the front end by about 1-2"... I think the fairing sits too high if you dont.. this is my thought anyway... I dont like how they all sit so high.. maybe you guys could give a cr@p.

I put a reckless fairing on my bike. I own an auto body shop so I painted it myself as well as putting in my own stereo. I think the quality of the faring itself is very good. I did also notch out the mounting brackets some to lower the fairing. If you sand and polish the brackets you can get them very shiny, almost chrome looking. I also added a chrome torque head bolt on the fairing brackets so someone waking by couldn't pull it off and steal it.
