As I was riding Thursday to the dealership to trade in my VStar I began to get second thoughts. I was thinking that maybe I shouldn't do this. My VStar was only two years old and was a fine bike. But, I had already wrote a check for a down payment and committed to trade so I just moved on. When I got to the dealership there it was sitting there with a birth certificate with my name on it and the bike surrounded by caution rope. Still thinking this is not a wise financial move I finished signing the papers. The sales manager took me to the bike and went over all the things I needed to know and then they moved it to the parking lot. I started it up and within two miles you couldn't knock the smile off my face with a boat paddle. No remorse, no regrets and no missing the VStar.
I just traded in my 2008 Vulcan 1500. I went thru the same feelings as you. Vulcan was in perfect condition, had all sorts of goodies that I added, and was a lot cheaper. Ran perfect, sounded good, but was not a Harley and was not exactly the style I wanted (but did not know that when I bought the Vulcan).
After leaving the dealer and being about a block away I could barely remember what I traded in...lol! No regrets!
