I have a 2005 Standard, getting ready to replace current bars with drag bars. Had drag bars on my last standard and to the best of my knowledge I had 7" rise, and cant remember the pullback. I want to go with the shortest rise possible on the bars (hopefully 3-5").Just looking for info on the minimum rise that you guys/gals have on your bikes without having any trouble with the bars hitting the tank when fully turned. Any info would be a great help and thanks in advance. TJ
well check my signature picture i have Carlini Lowdown bars- they have a 2 1/2 inch rise on the bars; they are 31.5 inches wide with a 6.5 inch pullback
Thanks for the info. I want to go with 3" and 6-7 pull back and to see yours has made me want to do so even more. Great looking bike!
thanks for the compliment; im actually lookin at switchin the bars on my nitetrain to a 3-4 inch riser with 28 inch broomsticks...
my brother flies seakings.
Very cool aircraft that he flies. A lot bigger then our 60 and a lot more HP as well. I flew with a guy for a little bit that used to fly the SeaKings. He spoke great things about them. I had an 06 Standard before the 05 I have now. It also had Drags on it but for the life of me I cant remember the specs. I want to say the were 5" and 6" not sure though. I looked for a while trying to find the guy who I sold it to with not success. My biggest concern is that I am going to order the bars while over here in Kosovo. I know the style I want and just didnt want to get a set that would cause me problems when I mounted them.
if you look at my albums ive gone through a few different sets of handlebars. I currently have Carlini 1 1/2 inch thick 5 inch rise on my roadking. I have broomstick drags on my deluxe and the lowdown bars on my nitetrain...
Im 5'9-5'10 and about a 33 inch sleeve. Im comfortable on all the bikes.
I think the 5 inch carlini have about a 5 inch pull back......
I have a 85' standard with buckhorns on now and switching to drag bars. If anyone every made this switch, do you have to change the medal line from the front break res. that goes into the rubber line? What did ya do?
Same here on minimun riser height. Looks like my stock risers are 4" with a pull back so I might have to go with 4" straight riser, we'll see when the bars get here this week. Also it look like I've have to replace to stock front brake line, everything else shouldn't be a problem.
