I have Barebacks on my Heritage and the look is pretty clean compared to any other brackets Ive looked at. Well at least until I just saw these pictures of Bubbas setup.
Id say if you have the money go with Bubbas, if you want a cheaper alternative with still a clean look then go with barebacks.
DMSC, I got the organizers for the bags from Saggybags when I ordered the saddlebag restore kit. They come in handy. I've got the one in the other bag full of stuff that used to just lay on the bottom of the bags.
Jip, Not sure exactly what it is your refering to but I'll say that the brackets that the bags connect to on the struts are threaded. The two ***** inside of each bag are connected to the bags permanently and are used to screw the bolt on the other side into the brackets. The sissy bar mounts as shown in my pics.
I've been using EasyBrackets for about a year and have to say I am happy with them. They do let the bags move around though, and I think I will make a bracket that bolts to their bracket and extends down to the rear footpegs to give them a third mounting point. They move the bags out from the fender about 1 1/2". I am happy with the quality though, they are well built and work well, very handy when on an overnight trip. I just pack them like suitcases and take them into the room with me, no unpacking. They also offer a strap thing that you can use to put a handle on both bags when they are removed, that would be great on a trip. I would recommend them, good value for the price.
Maybe that came across wrong. I wasn't implying that they weren't worth it. Looks alone would make it worth it to me. I was simply stating that I didn't understand exactly what came with the kit. Do you have to use their sissy bar side plates with their system? When they say bracket are they talking about a bracket that you have to replace on whatever saddle bags that you are using? I have never had a bike with saddle bags so I'm clueless when it comes to them. I wouldn't know if $50 or $500 is a good price.
And what in the heck does this mean: Well Trent if you weren't such a Leprechan that wouldn't be such a hard target!

It looks awesome, but their higher than Giraffe P_ssy! $395.00, still can't figure out what you get for that.

I said they were pricey. But from what I've seen from the other products and heard from others on this forum and around town, what you get is a damn fine quality product with excellent customer service and support and a perfect fit without you having to "modify" any part of the install.
You could go with the HD quick detatch system and get a crappy chrome finish that flakes and a big hunken plastic release tab (that'll look great with your shiny bike), or you can go with one of the other products and have to jerryrig the installation by drilling holes into your tins, and then get cussed out by the customer service rep and hung up on by an idiot product tech.
Was wondering how long you would take to respond to the leprechan crack.
Yes you have to use the sissy bar side plates that come with thier kit for the sissy bar to be quick release also. If you purchase only the quick release brackets for the saddlebags without the sissybar side plates it is a different part.
Ok, so if I understand this right, the bags have a bracket that has ends that are inserted into the the holes in the center of the mounting hardware that also doubles as the mount for the detachable sissybar. Right? Is that what holds the bags up?

I was thinking more of contributing to the performing arts center, the purple one. Beer and Steak would be good to! Is my assumption of how it works wrong?

Obviously I'm going to have to show you next time we get together for a beer, or steak.
Sounds like a great excuse to get together for a beer and steak!
