My friend wants to put the H-D Billet Headlamp on his Softail Standard. I did this on my Wide Glide a couple of years ago. On the Wide Glide, it is a bit involved. If you don't want to simply splice the new headlight in, you have to free up the main wiring harness at the rear fender, then feed it towards the front of the bike so you can get at the Duetch connector which is located in the neck of the frame above the down tubes.
My question: is the Softail Standard the same procedure?? Is it any easier to get at the connectors in the neck?? I told my buddy he needs to buy a service manual for his bike but I thought I would come to the Softail experts here and ask first so I can help him out. Thanks for any help??
