I don't understand how you guys broke that. I've had my lever off and putting it back on was never a problem and I never used a shim.

So I planned on the set screw...took it all apart and my tap and die set did not work well to make threads....so I tried a self tapping metal screw...went right in and works awesome...now to put some miles on it and see how it works!
Thinking maybe I should have jb welded around it and most likely still will.

I finally decided to fix my switch a month or so ago. When I took it out I found it was not broken, but had failed to function. there was no fix except for a new switch as i tested it every which way possible. So sometimes they just die. My bike is a 2002 so I guess almost 10 years is enough time for it to go out.

Anyone else glue a piece to the switch to fixe it??
I just did the same thing (broke the tip). I actually found it on he garage floor!!! I had the same though of just epoxy gluing it back on. Gonna try it now. Wish I new about the shim!

I cut the head off an 8 penny nail and epoxied it on. No trouble in four years.

I just had mine replaced under warranty for the same reason. Not broken but just stopped working.
