Need some help w/ Hard Bags
My next two things I am doing is a new seat and hard bags that are quick release for the long hauls.
I like Tsukayu (how ever the hell you pronounce that). They make a good looking hard bag that fits REAL close to the bike unlike using the stock HD touring bags.
Here is my issue, do I go with a vivid black bag or a vinyl covered bag? With my color scheme I think I can pull off the all black bag and I would like to get some copper laid down but that is going to be MUCH LATER down the lane! Will the bike look off with just black bags?
Or should I go with the vinyl covered bag. The issue is that I like the "patrol bag" pictured on the orange fatboy (pic 1) and the black heritage (pic 2) better but they do not offer that in vinyl like the "coner bag" (pic 3)
Both bags are huge bags and both fit very close to the bike. In addition they now have a bag made just for the Deluxe that fits like you have the fillers in between you bike and bag! (pic 4 and 5)
Again they only come in paint and not vinyl. So the short of it is....fella's would I be able to pull of the black painted bags or do I go with the leather look???
I noticed that the bags seem to be different sizes for each side and really want to see what they look like on a Deluxe - have not seen a good pic. i also have slip-ons with stock shotgun config. Since you have duals you may could go several other routes as well (bigger bags). I have the HD Deluxe bags but they are not nearly big enough.
SO...the next question is go with the more traditional look of the Patrol Bag or the more rounded bag made just for the Deluxe?
Thanks !!!!
Can't say this for certain but in the pics I have seen of the Patrols, they seem to sit (or at least look like they sit) lower on the bike. Could just be the shape of the top of the bags too.
Either way I don't think you can go wrong. They make a terrific product at a great price.
ps. I'd go copper coloured. They can match the paint on your bike and you could get the sides painted black and cleared to match. Just my .02. I plan this summer to have mine painted to match my fatty.

But have seen some hard bags that look good on softy's in here and some IMO that don't.
Mostly its a personal pref, For me its really hard to tell without being/seeing on the bike..
Will say I am not usually a fan of rounded looking bag on a harley. don't flow as well for me.
Just looked up some lux pics in here,, not many with bags...
At least as U say with the copper top paint U can pull off the look with some back ones...
good luck...

Nother thing...get ready to be very happy with the quality of the bags.
An excellent company to deal with from my experience.
Make sure you post up some pics when you get em.

I am sure glad to have come across this thread as I am conflicted about whether to change up my heritage bags. My last ride had the Tsukayu Strong bags and I loved them. When I bought my heritage classic the biggest problem was what to do, if anything, about the bags. The Tsukayu bags have the same capacity as the HD touring hard bags and I used the liners. The only problem that I ran into was the need to frequently checking the mounting bolts as they are only four bolts supporting the bags.
Another question would be whether the bags guards are compatible. Personally I like the rounded top of the Strong bags as they flow better with the fender. Painted bags streamline the bike, IMO and the vinyl covered would simulated the traditional heritage look. The other styles are too rigid for the softer appearance. I bought the bags with the LED turn signals last time and wouldn't do it again. I like the appearance of the traditional lights.
Here is a picture of the Tsukayu on my 750 Shadow.
