Default What's with this seat?

Late last year I bought a 94 Heritage Nostalgia...LOVE it! It came with the traditional hair-on seats (sold 'em) and the Heritage style studded seats. I love the main seat but the passenger seat...I can't get it on right? It doesn't seem to screw onto the rider's seat like most, it has two notches and slips onto two raised bolts on the back of the main seat and then screws onto the rear fender. Not only do I not really like that set up, but I can't get the thing to fit right. It's a fraction of an inch too long to bolt onto the rear fender once its slipped in place. Soooo, I have two questions.
1) what kind of seat is this? And is it normal?
2) since it all mataches, is there a trick to making it fit better?

Is the bracket on the passenger seat adjusted all the way forward? The bracket on mine is slotted and has about a 1/4 inch of adjustment.

you got new style seats, made for new bikes. the fitment is just differant on the 94. the mount holes are slightly differant. I think the fork type pillion brackets came out in 06. the older seats screwed together. the fork type brackets make it easier to remove the passenger seat and go solo. anyway it doesnt sound like a problem that a dremmal tool couldnt solve.
