hello, i've changed my stock exhaust for vance hines big radius 2 into 2 black, and my bike is heating up really fast.
Barely, i can't stand the heat on my right leg.
Talked to my local dealer and he says that since these pipes are shorter than any other, they tend to heat up a little bit more than stock exhaust.
This is happening when i ride my bike trought heavy traffic lights, stopping every 2 blocks for a minute or more waiting for the traffic light go green.
If i ride my bike on the road, no problem at all, i mean i feel like air is cooling the pipes.
Should i change my pipes for vince hines long shots?
Get a power commander. That will help cool it down.
Seriously ? Cause my local dealer told me that power commander won't help. It will make my bike more "rabiosa" , but nothing about the heating problem.
He just told me to get use to it. I'm trying to confirm this.
No, Dr. V-twin is serious. The PC-V will cool it down a bit. I haven't noticed much on my Crossbones, but that's because I only had like 100 miles on it when I put the PC-V on. I waited a while when I had my Road King, and I did notice a pretty big difference in the heat coming off the motor. IMO, for some reason, the crossbones gives off quite a bit more heat than my Road King did.
I changed out the stock pipes on my 08' NT with Bassani Pro Streets w/heat shields and added a TMax w/autotune. The bike feels like it runs alot cooler than it did stock.
