Default Baffles breaking

I just bought a used 07 FXSTC, it has a screamin eagle exhaust. In less than 1000 miles of riding, a baffle has broken twice. The dealer fixed it first time gratis, and I want to get it fixed again, but my question is, should I just go ahead and get new baffles for it. I mean how often should i expect to have a baffle break loose? This is my first HD btw. Thanks for any info or insight your experience may provide.

in all my 44yrs of riding,, don't think I ever heard of a baffle braking.....

IMO, something is stressed wrong in the pipe....

Are U using the right baffle oil when U install them...?????

Or its the perfect time to get those new pipes anyway....

I have never heard of that either. Clarify what broke with pics if possible.

Ive never had one break but I put vance and hines short shots on within 500 miles. My buddies 06 Dyna on the other hand has screamin eagle slipons and has gone through 5 or 6 baffles now. The bell on the forward end of the baffle that sits against the inside of the pipe keeps breaking off piece by piece until that whole end is gone. You can hear the pieces rattling around while he's riding and it's the most annoying thing ever.

crap...try big city thunder. very strange and although I dont have the miles like most of these guys, I have messed around with the baffles and never seen chips breaking off. I would be interested to know how difficult / easy was it to put them in or out though. Maybe a measurement is off....if its loose maybe just heating up and rattling around and chipping? try measuring the pipes and ordering big city thunders....if that dont work...I would get a different type of pipes or call V&H and complain with pics...
