I'm from Southern Cali so there are tons of nice looking sleds around here. The few guys I ride with are constantly changing things up on their rides so its hard to keep up... but, I think I'm doing alright... for now.
It's tough coming up with something unique and this forum helps out alot. You can pick and choose different ideas, from different bikes, from different regions and come up with a different look of your own... Great bunch of peeps on this forum.... THANKS!

I think you guys missed Dustmaker's point. I think that most guys on this forum are about making their bike look good. We trade ideas and see what we like and do not like. Out of all the guys that I ride with as well I am the only one on HDFourms and I am also the only one that has done more in depth mods.
There is no doubt in my mind I would not be going in the direction that I am with my bike if it was not for this forum. Local trends tend to prevail as well as tends on this forum. What I like is that I am different from the rest of my buddies as they are in the local look and I am not.
At bars I have guys circle my bike and looking at things. I saw a lot of guys with 21" rims on this forum and thought it was played out until I started looking around my area. I am the ONLY one running with one! Thanks to this Forum and a few of its playas...
So Dustmaker I agree with you and so does my damn wallet!
Pretty much the same here. Most guys I ride with don't do much to their bikes, other than a few chrome bolt-ons, a new seat, maybe some slip-ons.
The guys who ride 'modified' bikes around here seem to be either bought that way, like a BMC chopper, or are in the manner of the OCC abortion bikes.
I'm on a Navy base and there are lots of riders/enthusiasts. I work with over a dozen riders in my division and about 10k people on the base. I get compliments a couple times a week so far that my bike is the best of the bunch. We range from HD to almost everything else. I'm proud. My sporty is evil. In good ways of course.
I work for Uncle Sam and there's about 23 guys who ride at my FO. There's a handful of sport bikes, some metric cruisers, and the rest are HDs. While my bike is extremely stock right now for this forum, I find it odd that the rest of the guys I ride with really just ride a stock sled, or bought a slightly modded bike and haven't changed a thing. The most I have seen is a change in the exhaust, well except for my Ducati buddy...he's dumped some change into that sick beast.
I do have a lot of mods on hand ready for a radical bike change, and almost all of the ideas came from this forum. The guys like my Train, but they really just want to ride, which is fine with me in the end, and haven't caught the addiction yet I guess.
I gotta give credit to the people of this forum too. Quite a few mods on my ride started with ideas from here. Mine stands out in the group, but for different reasons, and I get tons of compliments or comments. There's no happy medium tho, it's a love hate thing with the "anti chrome" look.
i don't really do much riding in a group. the other guy that i ride with the most is on this forum as well. but have to admit that without this forum my bike wouldn't be nearly as cool as it is now. and i wouldn't know nearly as much as i know about bikes
im laughing cuz im relating
