Same here with the freezing garage.. luckily the one i've been working in, my buddy spent time a few months ago insulating it and has electric and propane heaters out the *** to keep it toasty warm. So i've been able to do just a bit of work..
I usually end up with some part of my clothes on fire, that's how I get toasty warm. I say this as I'm about to go air arc some bushings out of a dozer frame. Oh well I need new pants anyway.
Ok, found out where to start. Ordered custom dynamics integrated black out taillight, led layback plate frame and load equalizer, and just now ordered the Shotgun Shock.
I haven't been able to ride lately do to the ice on the roads. Never thought I'd be able to post that being in northwest florida. Must be that global warming I guess. I still have the boss bags for sale if anybody's looking. I've got them down to 500.00 shipped. I'm about to try and clean the IAC if anybody has any insight on how best to do that. Still having that low idle problem. Best I've read is to spray 4-5 burst of mass air flow sensor cleaner in there but I'm not sure if I should get a q-tip up there to try and scrub it a little or just let it leak back out and wipe it up with a rag.
So it was around 20 degrees the other day and I tried started my bike up and it just wouldnt crank. No big deal I guess. But I forgot to turn the ignition off and drained the battery. Since I'm no where near an outlet should I jump it from another bike battery or what would you recommend? Good news though since I'm a procrastinator while I'm messing with the battery I can install my flush mount gas caps and perhaps take my console off and paint it.
I guess there's a fair chance you have screwed the battery. Only time will tell. You could jump from another battery, but be even more careful than usual of sparks, and there's always the risk you could screw the second battery from the discharge. And once running, I'd leave the donor connected for a bit so you can at least replace a little of the charge.
Personally, I'd probably go buy a replacement, put the old one on a decent conditioner and keep it as a spare.
