Default First Harley

My first Harley. I'm very excited and just wanted to say hello. I've only put about 500 miles on it and now im trying to decide if i want to put some risers on it or some apes. Otherwise I think I can be happy with this bike for years to come.

Default Hey all

I haven't posted much on this site, I just read a fair bit. I see many lo baggers being built. I'm also building mine out. I'm about to have some side filler panels custom made but I thought I'd check to see if anyone has found any that may be already available? I've searched and can't find anything.

thanks.

Default forward controls for fatboy lo

Hey fellow HOG's..... I am just switching from a sportster to a Fatboy lo... I am planning to switch floorboards to forward controls but the dealership says its not recommended and what is possible will cost 1400plus labor nd tax... I have been searching from last few days and all it did is confuse me more... Can anyone please suggest what should i go for... I dont want to take chances with my new baby.... Some guidance will be really appreciated

Good luck on your mod decision......you could start by removing those hideous reflectors!

$1400 PLUS tax and labor? Dude I know cocaine is a hell of a drug..but what are they snorting?

http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...rd-control-kit

so essentially they want $1400.. for a $320 part (plus cost of pegs and stuff, but even the PM full kit is only 900)

Look..if you're not happy with the floorboards, there's several kits out there to switch. It's really NOT that hard.. a few bolts here, a bit of loctite there, and you're done.

Is it safe? It's not less safe than having floorboards on. Whatever your preference is. I guess they're worried about the pegs scraping..but if you're not scraping your floorboards now, you're about as likely to scrape your pegs. That's probably why it says it won't fit the FLSTFB. Soo.. can you make it work? sure, anything's possible.

Have you looked at the filler panels from Cycle Visions?
I put the whole Bagger-Tail setup on my wife's bike. The filler panels are a little narrower than I'd like in the rear, but that may be due to them being designed for 98-13 saddlebags, but it still looks decent.

Default FNG with a few questions

First and foremost, Hello and thanks for all the great info. Took a couple of weeks to make it through all the post and generate ideas for my bike and the wife's. She learned to ride last summer and we bought 2 Fatboy Los. I traded in my crotch rocket, getting too old for that. Twice the fun = twice the price for upgrades.

Anyway, I bought trucklite phase 7 headlights and now need new visor trim rings. Looking at the Harley catalog, I can't figure out which visor trim ring fits our bikes with the stock housing. They all say w/ Nacelle? What does that mean and have they made the French ring in black? I have the 2015 catalog and am looking for the part number or a link to buy 2.

Second, I am looking to change my bars out with a set of BR Custom's 10-12" New Waves. The dealer quoted me $427 for a new set of cables and I was wondering if that's what everyone else is paying or if you are using a comparable aftermarket set. $1000 for new bars, installed by me, seems a little steep, or am I wrong?

I had the wife's bike lowered 2 inches and all be damned if it doesn't look a little sleeker than mine! I have a stage one with Bassani Road Rage exhaust and I love the sound now. Ill gets some picks up as soon as I get the required number of post.

Thanks in advance for the advice that I am sure will come, and yes I did try the search function; sometimes that can be a test of patience .... lol

P.S. I love seeing all the VETs on this sight, thanks for your service!
