Gommee, let us know how those fangs work out for ya (pics), I don't really care for the looks, but I hate the turbo wind even more. And I don't think I've seen em powdered black so that might not even look too bad. The older I get, I'm even starting to think wind shield. I said starting to not going to! It's snowing here as I write and my shop is 25*, thank goodness for this forum.
Installed Avon grips and black levers while things were apart.
Getting all the wires through was a bit of a pain because it gets a little crowded between the can-bus, the turn signal wires and the throttle by wire wires.
I thought the can-bus bikes had the signals wired to the controls but it appears they changed things because these went all the way down where the rest of the wires go. Of course, likely because of these changes, the signal wire extensions Magnum sent don't have the right terminals for the molex plugs. Luckily (and thanks to Misbehaven for the signal relocation write up you did in 2012) I had bought a plug that goes to the extra connector and that DID match the wire terminals that were crimped on the Magnum extensions so I was able to solder in the extensions and wire the signals to there instead. Hooked the battery up to make sure they worked properly and everything was good!
Football starts soon so I think I will take care of doing the clutch cable and bleeding the brake tomorrow.

I have a 75,000 btu nat gas heater in my garage. It makes it nice and toasty to work in a T-shirt when it is -40 outside.
I like the windshield, on a trip the boys that bug me are picking bugs out of their teeth every time we stop!
I found a thread on here a little while back that the owner of a Red Slim had a set powdered. They looked sharp!
I also found anther thread where a bike like mine had a set of black jescustomaccents fangs on it. The Jes fangs are straighter in definition than the HD ones and the HD ones only come in chrome. Off to the powder shop they will go, as I have them sitting in the "to do" box.
Now there are tons of threads here about the fangs/wind deflectors on Softails. I mocked up a set of wind deflectors to see for myself what they did, I was impressed. There are also some videos on youtube to see for yourself. Actually the Daytona Blue Lo that was on this site is showcased on jescustomaccents site.

Reason: addition
Personally, I am not sure of the look in chrome or black, but I am putting them on for functionality. May as well make them blend in with the rest of the bike.
I do think they won't look too out of place powdered in black on my bike.
wouldn't it be easier to put leather lowers on the highway bars
The fangs deflect enough that I could enjoy a Cigar rolling down the road in combination with the windshield.
I have a set if lowers, they help, but not the same. Also, they are not recommend to use in higher temperatures due to air restriction. The wind deflectors with the lowers should make it like I am riding a bagger.
