Gauntlet indeed! it took a lot of effort, time and money but if you are hard working, honest, responsible and abide by the law (except for the the 17'' apes ) i am walking proof that it can be done!.

Rquirch - Congrats brother on what you have accomplished.

This country could use more people like you. I was once engaged to a girl from another country and she said this to me one time; "I hate this god forsaken country"...and she was from South Africa, where life is cheap and very dangerous!!! So I did my best to make her happy (well, to make myself happy) and sent her *** back as fast as possible.

Just got my 2011 Fatboy Lo on Friday. The weather was mid 30's and the roads were dry. I was able to put 23 miles on her. Then it was time to put her away as another 9-12 inch of snow came for the weekend. I won't be home until the end of March or mid April so I hope the weather will be on my side. I can't wait to get her out again.

So i bought my 14 inch apes along with the new brake and clutch cable and teh wiring extention kit.

the local dealer wanted 800, the local yamaha dealer wanted 300 to put my handle bars on and wire things up.

Problem is i want to do this myself. I can wire stereos in cars...and i work electronics in the Air Force.

Anyone have any exp in this? Pretty easy to do? Im thinking it should just be a wire for wire extention with heat shrink right?
