I've got a set of StraightShots in my attic that I'm debating whether or not I want to have the heatshields coated black, and try them on for size.. but i figure since i'm taking my exhaust off in the winter anyways to do some powder coating, i'll just throw them on there and see if i like them then.
Hey DWB, how did you prep the primary cover and shift levers before the rattle cans?
I just scuffed them with a 3M pad and wiped the shifters and scuffed and degreased the primary. I recommend brake parts cleaner and clean it good inside and out.

I don't have a clue what you wrote.. are you asking opinions on an Avon? or where to buy one? Dr. V-Twin has them, if you email Drew on here he might cut you a deal..otherwise Motorcycle-superstore.com has them for $214
it really seems like most people go between the Avon Venoms and Cobras, or the Metzeler ME 880's.. i'll probably go with the Metzeler's when it's time to replace my tires
