Love the new Glide. I was at the dealer today and saw the exact same bike and really like that color. Congrats on the new bike. I plan on buying a touring bike as soon as my Lo is paid off in about 2-3 yrs. I'm stuck between the road glide and street glide but dont think I could trade my Lo in as it will be my hot rod/bar hopper.
I gotta say that if i would ever decide on getting a bagger i would do the same! Not until my Fatboy Lo is paid off so i can keep both. I think the Lo is an awsome ride with awsome looks just somthing i feel the baggers are lacking in the looks department unless you dump a ton of money into them to get them to look good! I Learned my leason when i got rid of my 09 night train denim black.. I was sick to my stomach felt like i got ride of one of my kids or somthing. A couple months later i bought my 2012 Lo in big blue pearl and swore i would never get rid of it! Like they say for engines theres no replacement for displacment! Well theres NO replacement for style!!! And My 2012 Lo has it and my 09 Night train had it! I will always keep my Lo!
I never clean mine either! Only thing I have done is clean the windshield (bugs) and dabbing up gas dribbles on the tank.
I clean mine religiously as a method of therapy.. I find it very relaxing to sit in my driveway and wipe the dirt off from her, and clean the wheels up nice, get the bugs out from the bigass 7" headlight and off the mirrors and such.. yeah.
FatVermonter,
I couldn't agree with you more.
I think I washed my 2010 Lo about 3 times in the year and a half that I owned it. I waxed the little bit of chrome and aluminum twice.
That's why I got it in denim black. It barely looks dirty ever.
I wanted a bike I could hop on anytime and ride, not something I am afraid to take out and possibly get it dirty because I spent 4-6 hours waxing and polishing it every other weekend.
I have better things to do.
Nah I didn't think you were knocking it at all.. I'm just saying I'm one of the few that do keep mine clean because its like 1 of 3 ways I know how to relax. Though I'm not afraid to take my bike right after I just cleaned it out onto the road..i know it's going to get dirty, but oh well..just means I get more therapy later.
my thing is... if I just cleaned, it would be like the old days. Checking your immaculately cleaned rifle out of the armory, only to go to a field-ex to fire blanks for 5 days.... UGHHH
alright, i remember being in the field carrying my 249 Saw..they gave us 2 drums full of blanks for no apparent reason (I was Artillery, wth did we need blanks for? haha)..anyways.. when the Op was ending, they were like "If you have any blanks, fire them off because we can't turn them back in..".. i was like "Uhh.. No. My weapon is clean, and I like it that way.". Meanwhile, the communications section had nothing to do..ever.. so their SAW gunners were going nuts firing drums full of blanks off into the trees.. i was like "Oh..well..here you go!". I think they spent a solid week in the armory trying to get the carbon out of their barrels, and mine was spotless. so..yeah...i guess.
Her name was Betty..she was lovely to me.. all 17lbs of her unloaded.
