Just got a tracking number on my new Corbin Gunfighter seat. It's supposed to be here on the 8th. I should be able to enjoy it for at least half of my two week 100 mile daily commute to Pensacola. Hopefully my new derby cover will be here soon too. I'm going to post this question in the general softail section too but does anyone know what I'm supposed to do with the two rear solo seat bolts. The gunfighter comes with all new attachment hardware.

I got the front turn signal relo kit off eBay for about $30. Honestly tho you can buy the same parts at a hardware store and so it yourself for about $10. It's just a matter of figuring out what parts you need. If you want to order it just search for fatboy turn signal relo on eBay. May be easier..... They are great folks to deal with.

Ok Jim I hate you. I really like the way the gloss black parts look and my bike is kind of evolving like everyone else. That being said, I think I am going to change my wrinkle black covers out for gloss black so I will have some for sale. O really like the contrast between the denim gloss and chrome like my bike already is. Damn you haha.

It's just my opinion, but like putting a gloss black primary cover on a wrinkle black engine.. (only picture i could find after 3 minutes of looking).. the derby cover is the color of the engine..the gloss black isn't..and together they don't look right.. (though most people who have done this also have the gloss black rocker box covers and gloss black clutch cover, and it looks better..like this

I dont know how it would look in a denim, and even in my brain i'm having a hard time picturing it.. Here's an idea.. go get a piece of that artistic poster board paper (i forget the name of it..it's semi-rigid, very smooth and you can paint on it)..and a can of the Krylon semi-flat paint..whichever one is supposed to match the denim kinda nicely, and paint the paper, then use some painters tape and attach it to where ever you want to do your bike..then take a step back from it and see how the colors flow. does that make sense? i do that from time to time because i'd rather spend $3 on a can of spray paint, than however much to have a part done and have it look like poopoo.. i also MS Paint things a lot too

Thanks Jim! Got it done last night in about 10 minutes. Looks great. I appreciate the input.

I don't mean to **** you off, it's your bike, if you like the way you look, wear it proud! Don't go changing things because of one jerk off's opinion

I've wondered about this myself.. They make black-braided oil lines for up-to 06 softails, but they're like $70 for 10' of line.. I've read that some powder coaters won't do it because of the quick-release fittings on either side of the lines and that one option may be to scuff them up and paint them black yourself. I'm trying to think of something like.. those wire-organizer straps..they're like a black braided plastic-like material that zip tight and keep cables organized (for computers and TV's and such).. if those would 1) work, 2) withstand the heat from the engine and the oil lines..
like this stuff:

http://cableorganizer.com/fray-resistant/

get it tight enough, and tie the ends off with some small black zip ties, i think it would look decent

I thought about the wire things also but thought they would end up looking cheesy lol, also thought about having them dipped, but I might just steel whooling them and painting them, not sure how they come out of the tank thou, I'm going to end up putting a oil cooler on maybe this yr some time and going to use steel braid for those lines

Thanks for the info. BTW: I got an 8 week old pup that looks just like the Pit in your avatar.

What about going to a street rod shop and having some custom braided lines made? I did that on one of my cars, and can't think why it can't be done for a bike. Just a thought.

Anyone running 14" Carlini Apes on a 2012 Fat Boy Lo? I am having problems locating cables and wires due to the ABS system. Everyone I have talked to said they need the exact length so they can make them for the ABS. I am hoping there is someone out there that has went through this already.
