Nice. I like that one. I already have a lay down license plate bracket form Hogrita though so I am just looking for the tail light/turns signals.

I took it to a local shop and had them cut it down about 5-6 inches (just to my nose if I'm sitting on the bike). Now I look over the shield easily and it's tall enough to direct ALL the wind over me. They did a fantastic job and I think it looks reasonable as well. I thought I'd end up taking mine on and off all the time (takes maybe 15 seconds), but I like it so much on that I only take it off occasionally if I'm just putting around the city.

I know there are those out there who say windshields are for girls, but I get a lot of compliments on the bike, and no one has ever had anything but good things to say about the shield. You can look good and be comfortable too. It's all about what you want. I'd rather not get an ab workout from fighting the wind every day.

Pic should give you a good idea of the height now.

I like that. Looks great. Love the low height. Not sure I have the local resources to get one cut like that though.

Thanks Jim. I checked out the Kuryakyn site and when it links to "turn signal inserts" is has replacements for the side ones. I could not find on that site where they are integrated into the tail light. I do not mind spending more for a good bright light. Bigger concern is buying something that is made poorly and having issues later.

Anyone heard of Custom Dynamics? http://customdynamics.com/street_mag...taillights.htm

Their web site looks so cheap it concerns me.

Getting it cut was nothing fancy. I actually had it done by a guy that runs a small town custom motorcycle shop in the middle of hillbilly central VA. My guess is that any independent bike shop could do it easily enough. Took 15 minutes for them to prep it with tape at the right height and another 15 to cut and sand the edge. Cost me $50 or something like that, and it looks like it came that way. I'm sure your local Harley dealer could either do it or recommend someone. Otherwise, I know Memphis Shades makes just the plastic replacement shields at pretty much any height and color you want (tinted or gradient). You'd just buy the one that had the bolt holes that match your hardware (in my case the HD King size). That's the more expensive way to go though.

Guys, in the '12 P&A book they now have shorter shields with black braces. 16" 58376-09.
