So, kinda off topic... have bike prices just skyrocketed or are people out of their minds? I just saw 2 different 2011 Fat Boy Los (one denim black, one silver) on craigslist in my area with just a couple of add-ons (slip-on mufflers, grips, shift pegs) and these guys are both wanting upwards of $18,500... Is it just me or is that insane?
They probably got hosed when the bought the bikes new, paid dealer labor for the upgrades, put $99 down and signed a loan with 18% APR for 6 years.
Independent repo dealers are making bank on these deals.
Took 3 years....but by July my Lo should be 99% done for mods! I reserve the right to 1% for boredom
Got everything checked off the mod list and ordered now.
Waiting for....
1. To get home from out of town to pick up bike that just got blacked out forks, LED strut markers to add to brake light system, 103 derby cover & tail light base blacked out.
2. Hogdeluxe 12" tool bag and tank 'pouch' bib to match the C&C seat.
3. Cycle Visions saddle bag guard & front fender trim.... then last round of powder coats goes in.
4. Truck-Lite LED headlight and aux lights.
5. Custom Dynamic smoked LED signal light kit and taillight.
Hol crap batman...almost done! Can't wait to shoot photos after.
Yep powder coat the hell out of that gloss & chrome! Great job! Now it doesn't look like a catalog special anymore. One of my few complaints about the Lo.
Ok Got the bike back from the dealer.. said the 10s have a new brake system on the bikes.. Said there was a small pin that some how was misaligned that caused the pads not to close.. picked the bike up a few days later.. HD covered the repairs.. flash forward to last week, i am driving down to Suffolk VA from Maryland and have about 250 miles on the bike since i picked it up. Hit the breaks and the rear locks. I skid for a few seconds and it releases. I stop at a stop light and when I start the bike stalls and my brake is seized. Bitch behind me almost hits me. I get going and get off the road and my disk is a nice neon blue.. See before and during pics.. Called HOG for my 1 tow and its only for 100 bucks. Toe company wants 700 to come get me.. Pocket knife and released brake later I drove the rest of the way on a front brake. Took it to dealer #2 who said they were installed incorrectly.. Dealer #1 said I wouldn't have made it 250 miles if it was incorrectly installed.. I don't who to believe.. Dealer #1 did cover all the repairs and I was able to ride the 300 miles home.. Im paranoid about stomping on my brakes now though..
