I have my 2005 night train. I was thinking to selling and moving over to a crossbones. But....they really are the same bike - minus the seat and forks.
And so since I love my bike too.....
I wanna put crossbones forks and seat on my night train. I already have DNA springer forks, but the ride isn't what it could be.
So back to my original question:
Has anybody tried to fit that stock crossbones seat and pan cover to another softail?
Any crossbones owners that switched to another seat wanna part with their stock setup?
I've been wanting to fit the sprung solo seat to my Heritage Special for a few years, but I've been reluctant to do it because the sprung seat sits several inches higher than the Mustang wide solo I'm running now. That's something else you may want to consider.
The crossbones seat will fit the following models using the mounting kit that is on the crossbones: FLSTSB, FXST, FXSTB, FXSTC, FXSTS. WILL NOT FIT; FXSTSSE/2/3. If you get just a seat, you will need the mounting kit part#51902-09 ($229.95) In a couple of weeks, I will be installing a Sundowner on mine and will have the seat and mounting kit avalible for the best offer.
Here is my 1998 Fatboy with a stock 2009 Crossbones seat and hardware installed. Minor modifications were necessary at the nose hinge mount, and battery cover only.

i run a legends vintage solo on my heritage they may have something for you i like the frame cover they use not as bulky as the stock crossbone set up also some adjustment on height i find it way more comfortable than my stock seat dialed in with the shotgun shock it really rides nice
I gotta revive this as I'm about to get all the xbones seat parts free. I'm gonna put it on my 09 heritage classic. What exactly did you heritage guys have to do. It looks almost a direct fit.
