Default Please help quick!!! Ran into trouble with switch wiring

I was up to my uncles last night working on my ape hanger install and I ran into a bit of trouble with switch wiring. I bought an extended wiring harness off ebay with the chrome switches attached that said it was good for my year but had no directions with it. After pulling my tank off and hooking all the color coded wires to my harness I was left with two extra wires on the throttle side and one extra wire on the clutch side coming from the switches with all spots filled in my harness connection. Before trying anything I tested everything out. My horn and headlight worked but that's it. The extra wires coming from the switches were the same color as other wires going to the harness so I decided to try to splice them in before they got to the harness. This got my clutch side directional to work but the bike still won't start. I'm going back up there tonight to figure it all out but I was just hoping somebody else has run into this same problem already and can speed things up for me. The extra wires on the throttle side are an orange and white and a black and white if that helps. The bike itself is a 2003 FLSTF carb.

I ran into this...the schematic shows one wire that wye's out to feed power to more than one switch...but in reality they just ran out 2 wires of the same color...that is why you have more wires than you need...in other words multiple wires of the same color have to be connected together.

Just wanted to say thanks for the response. Yeah I tied them all in together. My problem ended up being a pin wasn't pushed far enough into the connector it's up and running fine now.
