Default Deuce riders?

I'm planning a purchase and I would like some information from those of you who ride a Deuce.

Is is a comfortable ride? Silly question, maybe, but I need to know. I'm very taken by the Deuce, especially that little two-toned blue one sitting at the local dealership! I really need something that is reasonibly comfortable. Salesmen will tell you anything. What do you folks say?

Thanks in advance

Les

I have a Deuce and like it allot. One of my good friends has an 03 Deuce and another has an 04 Fatboy. I've had the chance to ride both and bought a Deuce. The deuce handles better in my opinion than the Fatboy, but is different. I like the Deuce ride also. It is stiff but not rigid, which I believe allows it to handle and ride well. They should have a demo available for you to try. I thought the Fatboy had a little stiffer ride but I am not sure if the suspensions are any different. I am fairly new to the Harley line so maybe some guys with more experience will chime in and help you out.

I have an 04 Deuce and its the best ride I've had since that hooker in Vegas. Did 2000 miles on it in one week this September (buddy did the same on his Wide Glide) and felt none the worse for wear. (The bike not the hooker)
I bought the Deuce after test riding a Super Glide, Low Rider, Road King Custom and Fat Boy. After the ride on the Deuce I stopped, I knew it was what I wanted.
Whatever bike you choose, just makesure it fits the type of riding you plan on doing. Too many riders buy a cruiser or sporty to just rade it in on a touring bike a year later.

Thanks, guys. I really appreciate the information.

Two months ago I didn't recognize one model from another. That's changed after spending more than a few hours on sites like this, visiting the dealership, and worrying the s&%t out of friends. I really like the Deuce. Everything that is but the price - $18,400! Even with a 29-30" inseam, the forward controls seem to feel alright...in the showroom.

Since the dealership here doesn't offer an opportunity to demo prior to purchase, I feel like I won't be able to make an imformed decision before taking it home. I really don't want to make one roll of the dice w/ that much money![:-]

Check around on the demo ride. Most dealerships will not let you demo a new bike but if you are a serious buyer, they should allow you to test ride a used bike.

jezcruzen,

I own a 2004 deuce. The ride is good for me.I wouldnt trade it for any other bike. But i will have to admit i drove a wideglide and it is a smoother ride. My deuce fits me better than the wide glide and i like the look of a softail so much better. You wont be disapointed in the deuce. If you plan on long trips dont plan on packing much. I plan on getting a sissybar so i can atleast strap a bag too it.

I also have stumps for legs. I just got a '03 Deuce with the Badlander Seat. It is really fun to ride. I had a Road King and there is no comparason between the two. If you're short like me, you'll need a pullback bar. My Deuce has 9" Carlini Super Sweeps that look great and comfy. The King was softer to ride and more upright, but I can reach the ground on the Deuce and I can really feel the bike. I really like it!

I purchased an 05 Deuce 3 monthe ago, and the ride is very comfortable even being lowered 2 ", but the problem that I'm finding is that a lot of aftermarket items do not fit the deuce, which means that you have to modify them to make them fit. Other than that it's a great bike.
