Default Looking for ideas for apes for fatboy

Sorry guys you've heard this asked a 100 times. I'm looking for apes in the 14-16" range. I'd like to use my stock 1.25" risers. I looked at LA Choppers, but they aren't knurled in the center and I'm not sure about that. Anybody running apes that aren't knurled? Also looked at Flanders, but the aren't dimpled for wiring. I can find plenty of choices that neck down to 1" in the center section. Thanks guys for any help or ideas.

I wouldn't get anything your not comfortable with. There are all kinds of bars out there. A lot of places make them so you get to buy their risers also. Highth wise just depends on what your comfortable with. I'm 5'9 and have 18's. I get a lot of wind, when I tour I put my windvest windshield on and all that goes away. 80 mph is no problem and not all tired at the end of the day. I'm sure a machine shop could knurl bars for you too.

I had 12.5" buffalo bars from drag specialties for 2 years. Love them. I have since upgraded to 16" Wild1 chubby's and love them as well. I'm 5'11".

There are less choices if you stick with the fat risers you allready have. I just went through that decision as well. I was going to use my old risers but then decided to ditch that and find bars I liked. I purchased new risers for the 1" step at the center. I suggest you sit on the bike and use a broom stick or something similiar to decide your ridding height. I just installed these from Alloy Art, 13" rise.

Stock risers are 1" in the center so what you have must not be stock. Get a set of Carlini 1.25" bars. That is my suggestion. Take your time on the decision, as you don't want to get bars you don't like. I roll with the Wild One 16"'s too.

The risers are for sure stock, as I bought the bike new. I think they went to the 1.25" riser in 07 on the fatboy. I would still welcome more feedback, but am thinking that it would be a lot easier to ditch the stock ones and go to 1".

My bad, I forgot the newer fatboys are 1.25 " risers. There are a lot more options for 1" risers. That is a fact.

. I also thought this would be an issue when I went with Carlini's, however, no slippage whatsoever.
