I'll tell you what.... I just bought the 39" fishtails and had them installed last week. I replaced my boarzilla pipe. I wish I hadn't. the fishtails look cool but run like Sh*t. If I hadnt paid so much for the pipes and the tuning I would switch it back in a SECOND. I lost tons of power.
I checked American Classic before i placed my order and they were no where near that 524 dollar make for a full system. I paid $705.00 for a set of 36 inch mini cholos with a chrome flange kit and shipping included from a close friend., I do not think you will find them for less than seven hundred and may not even be able to find them at that price. I should have mine installed by the weekend plan on working on them Thursday evening or Friday when i have the day off
Mike,
Don't be shy about showing us what your bike looks like with those Samsons and the 21" front tire. I still think your bike, the way it is, is the classiest looking Luxe on the board. BTW, you gonna sell those fat daddies?
Jamie

If you get pipes without a baffle your low end torque may suffer. I had the same experience when I went to samson true duals with no baffles. It is the same for any pipes without baffles.
i got my V&H's and took the baffles out... sounded GREAT.. didn't run so hot... i put the baffles in, and they ran much better, but sounded weaker.... was told on average you could cut the baffle roughly in half to gain back a lot of sound, and not loose any torque, loss in torque came when cutting more than 1/2 the baffle down....
i cut a little less than half out, and got A LOT of my sound back, and kept my low end torque.... for this reason, i would go with V&H, the baffles are removable and adjustable, with samson, you either get them or you don't, and there is no changing what you get out of the gate.
samson does have more traditional looking "fishtail" though....
GOOD LUCK EITHER WAY!!!! and search search search for a deal... you can get them for about $500, but you gotta really look for it and be patient... i got mine for about $300, but they were used....

I also cut a set of baffles in half and got most of the sound back in a set I had. And did not lose any power. Or...you could get some big city thunder baffles to put in the place of the stock baffles. You could also put Big city thunders in the fishtails. I put some in mine and gained a lot of power but I lost the sound that I liked from the fishtails so they only lasted a few trips around the block.
No problem here. I had the Rush slip-ons prior to the 28.5" longtails. Might be dialed in wrong into his fuel management system. Mine run close to my slip-ons. Here's my $.02:
Get the 33" longtails without baffles. The baffles that come with the Samsons - you can't take out. You can always add BCT baffles if you find you need more backpressure. http://www.bigcitythunder.com/
Learn from my mistakes. That's what I'd do. The only complaint I have is the slight inconvience of the left side pipe being so high. No heat issue, I just used to ride to the gym in shorts or windpants....not anymore. When you plant your foot at a stop you can burn yourself. I ride w/ shorts sometimes, but I'm very aware of the pipe now. Melted too many pairs of windpants though. You can't beat the look and sound. I'm not running any races with mine to worry about a loss of a couple of tq/hp.
