Have ridden for many years but last bike was 10 years ago. To my surprize, my son bougtht me a 2004 FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic yesterday while we were in Denver. I'll try to post a picture at the bottom if I can.
My son rides a 2009 Road King that he recently replaced his stock exhaust with slip-ons from Vance and Hines. He says I should do the same. Is this the right exhaust upgrade or is there another alternative. Lastly, the leather bags are in very good condition but have lost some of their shape over the years. I know there are bag stiffeners available from several vendors - what is the prefered source for these?
Welcome aboard! What a Son!! You must be proud.. gotsaggybags is very popular. I'm running vance and hines big shot staggereds which are popular but there are many other choices out there. My brother is satisfied with his fatcat 2 into 1 set up.
Congrats on the new ride. there are tons of choices for exhaust. Do some reading on it and make your decision. Hit me up for discounted forum pricing when you are ready to buy. Drew
Congratulations on your new ride. Check out Papabags for your saddle bags. I personally know the guy that makes these supports for the Heritage saddle bags. They are a very high quality product and work really well.

welcome,
and congrats...you raised your son well.
Your bike looks good but the 'sag' is already started in your bags.
I don't know about other products but gotsaggybags.com worked for me.... see my before / after pics below. I also cleaned them with Armor-All so they now look like new bags.
I got V&H str8-shots slip-ons ...I'm happy with the sound and looks. ( there are many choices. )
my ride is also an '04 Heritage Classic. ...awesome bike...you'll love it.
hey Cody, I can't answer your question, but being a former bullrider myself, your screen name intrigued me. The Cody Custer I know is a former World Champion Bullrider from AZ. A buddy of mine used to hall with him some. Like I said, the screen name just peaked my interest. Good luck and welcome.
Welcome! Your son is a heck of a guy. Now I'm wishing I had one! As mentioned above there are so many choices out there, you have alot of homework ahead of you. It's the good kind of homework though.
