I just got back from a Florida trip that included Leesburg rally. The link to the Full Throttle mag is right on. One of the best free biker newsrags I have seen. It has the state divided up in sections so you can check out just the stuff for your area.
I recommend a trip to Ft. Myers. One of the best HD dealers I have ever visited. Ride down on the Tamiami Trail.
Historical ride? Go up the coast to Homosassa Springs Harley Dealer then across 40 to Destination Daytona then up to St. Augustine Harley and spend time in historic down town. An excellent weekend trip as far as scenic rides in Florida go. If you don't want to go that far, visit Cedar Key instead of heading across the state on 40.
If you get the chance make it across the state (2hours) over the the Daytona, worth the trip - plenty of biker stuff going on every weekend. PM if you need any specific 411. Tampa is a bit over crowded for me, Clearwater beach is nice but still too many people - Daytona is a nice little dirty biker town.
Thanks again to all. Leaving tonight, be in FL Tuesday. This thread has become our itinerary. The picture Tilted my Skilt so we will defiantely stop there for a beer. First long trip with my new 16" apes. Carlini. I will report back with pictures.
If you go through Jacksonville, Fl on the way down... Stop at "The Rooster" in Bayard... It's a "real" old school Biker bar... http://thebayardrooster.com/
