I love the colour of your Deuce. Is that a factory paint scheme?
Not sure if I missed it, but what size cables did you use when you installed the apes? I am strongly considering installing 14" chubby apes. Your bike looks great with them.
I'm only 5'6" would 16 " be to much? I have a 00 duece .
depends where you wanna be. I have 14" apes on mine and I'm 5' 11", at ride position my hands are an inch or so above my shoulders. If you're only 5' 6", 16"s would have you reaching to the sky. Here are a few of my 07, 14" Wild1 Chubby's. Couldn't tell you exact cable length, I didn't measure, they came with the bars off another softail and fit perfectly.
That looks kick ***! I'm definitely going to put some on mine now. Any reason you didn't put the turn signals on the bars?
Thanks! I relocated my front turns right after I bought the bike last year, I hated the way they looked on the bars. I like having them down on the forks by the headlight, looks a lot cleaner in my opinion. Plus this way, I don't have to run even more internal wiring through the bars. I did the wiring extensions myself, staggered the splices, and even with 1.5" chubby's, it was still kind of tight feeding the wires through the bars. Adding 3 more wires per side would have been a huge pain in the ***.

Good to know. Did you buy an extension kit for the wiring or did your buy something else? I heard automotive wiring works... Any particular gauge etc?

I bought a kit off ebay, the wires were already color coded to factory wiring, 30 inches total length, and came with shrink tubing. I think I ended up extending my wiring 12 inches per side. the kit was under 25 bucks, if I recall. if you do your own, you will not have room to use traditional crimp butt connectors with the plastic coating. get crimp or solder butt connectors with the shrink tubing coating already on them. im at work now on my phone, but if need be I can be more specific and post pics or a link later when I get home.
Am I the only that's thinks ape's just don't look right on a deuce? Just breaks up the flow of the bike to much if you ask me.
to each their own, that's the beauty of the bike being yours. I think fishtail exhaust and whitewalls look like *** on any bike, but people don't put them on their bikes to impress me, they do it because its what they like.

no i agree, i dont no if its the slim tank or what, but dont think they look right,i think 12" may look ok as they suit the rocker, but the rocker has wide *** and different fender
