I have one in my softail, and didn't notice a lot. I have been told that you can get a regular garden hose and put it in your handlebar and it will be just about as effective.
have not used the bar snake but i had to deliver a 99 1200 sportster to denver from chicago last fall and i filled the drag bars with sand and it made a very big difference. it stopped most of the vibration at high speeds.I got the idea from looking at the adds for the bar snake
